Siouxland Medical Doctor's, Inc  (SMDI), formed in 1986, is a locally owned Independent Physician Organization (IPA), located in 31 counties, tri-state (IA, NE, SD) area. SMDI represents 350 plus providers in all specialties that provide the highest quality care. Siouxland Medical Doctor's, Inc. is the sponsor of Patient Preferred™, in affiliation with Coventry, to provide Carelink® plans.

Patient Preferred™ is a Physician-driven, locally owned, and governed, non-exclusive healthcare delivery, and service entity conceptualized and developed to meet the expressed needs of Siouxland employers and consumers, seeking a partnership with their area healthcare providers. Focused on enhanced access, the highest quality of patient care, customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness, our participating provides are dedicated to improving the healthcare status of the local community-and employees of the purchasing group.
